NB Power's proposed changes to net metering

1 min read

Here's a quick update on the above issue, which is suddenly consuming a lot of our time and bandwidth:

  • Your Board met Monday evening, May 4, to review what we know of the proposed changes and to discuss a plan of action.

  • We've engaged two organizations with deep experience in communications, electricity systems and regulatory processes.  They are putting together a detailed proposal and plan of action for us.

  • The Board is meeting again this coming Wednesday, May 13, to review the proposal and solidify our plan of action.

  • In the meantime, our application to be an Intervenor before the Energy and Utilities Board (EUB) has been submitted.  (The EUB is the body that needs to approve NB Power's proposal before it can be implemented; Intervenors are stakeholders who can present to the EUB as they consider NB Power's proposal.)

  • Our messaging on social media seems to be resonating and spreading; please help amplify it further by sharing to your own circles.

  • We expect media coverage of the issue to begin in the coming week.

Please stay tuned for updates; it's a pretty dynamic situation!
